Wilmington

Wilmington is a port city in North Carolina. It’s known as a gateway to Cape Fear Coast beaches like Wrightsville, with its strong surf, and Carolina, with its long boardwalk.

Part of downtown’s Historic District, the Riverwalk is lined with restaurants, galleries and shops. It runs along the Cape Fear River, where the Battleship North Carolina is moored. Artifacts on the ship explore WWII naval combat history.

Oak Island Lighthouse

The Oak Island Lighthouse is located in the Town of Caswell beach near the mouth of the Cape Fear River.

It is 148 ft tall, featuring four 2.5 million candlepower aerobeacon lenses which produce four, one-second bursts of light every 10 seconds, it has a luminous range.

It is a must see while in Oak Island.

The Battleship is an iconic piece of Wilmington’s history.

Envision the daily life and fierce combat her crew faced in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. You will encounter oral histories, photographs, and mementos as you experience the Ship and the exhibits.
